Patient Question
Hello Doctor,
I’m pregnant and tested positive for COVID-19. How will this affect my baby, and what risks and precautions should I be aware of to protect them?
Answered by Dr. Andrew Glazier
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
There is no evidence that COVID-19 passes across the placenta and infects the baby. Stay away from others (self-isolate and follow general health advice). There is no need to worry about being COVID-19 positive, as most cases are now mild compared to the peak of the pandemic.
Thanks
