Hello Doctor,
I got bitten by a cat on my finger, and it broke the skin, causing it to bleed. Now, the pain is really bad, and I can't move that finger. It's turning black, blue, and really red. Should I be worried? What should I do?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
It sounds like you may have developed a serious infection, possibly cellulitis or a deeper soft tissue infection. Cat bites can introduce bacteria that spread quickly, leading to complications. Given that your finger is turning black, blue, and red, and you’re unable to move it, you should seek medical attention immediately. I strongly recommend going to the nearest urgent care or emergency facility as soon as possible to get it evaluated. You may need antibiotics, wound care, or further treatment to prevent complications.
Thanks
