Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've been dealing with joint pain, fevers, night sweats, and extreme fatigue for a year. The area under my chin is swollen and painful, and I’m spitting out thick yellow/green mucus. I've also gained weight and started snoring loudly, which I never did before. No doctor has found an answer—what could be causing this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Your symptoms could be linked to several conditions. Obstructive sleep apnea may explain the weight gain, fatigue, and new snoring. Tuberculosis is another possibility, given the fevers, night sweats, and mucus production. Autoimmune or lymphatic issues could also be involved. A doctor should evaluate your symptoms with blood tests, imaging, and possibly a sleep study to pinpoint the cause and start treatment.

Thanks
