Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

For a while now, my stomach has been very sensitive, and I’ve lost about 10 pounds because of it. Back in mid-October, I felt a bubbling sensation near my right hip, and ever since then, my hip has been hurting. After eating, I experience cramping to the right of my belly button and near my uterus, which makes eating quite painful. I was diagnosed with indigestion about a year and a half ago, but these symptoms don’t feel like my usual indigestion issues. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

The symptoms you’re describing are not typical of simple indigestion, as they have persisted for a longer period of time than what is usually seen with that condition. Based on the location of your pain, which is on the right side of your abdomen, it’s important to consider other potential causes. The area near your right hip corresponds to the ascending colon and the liver, both of which could be involved. I strongly recommend scheduling an appointment for a thorough evaluation, as it seems that these symptoms may be related to a different underlying issue.

Thanks
