Hello Doctor,
I’m 13 years old and I have a small lump on my left testicle. It's under the skin and painless. When I press it up to the skin, it looks clear white. I haven't experienced any signs of low testosterone. What should I do?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the response to your query below:
The small, painless lump on your left testicle could be due to several possible benign conditions, such as a cyst, an epididymal cyst, or even a harmless fluid-filled growth. These conditions are generally not a cause for immediate concern, especially when they are painless and do not lead to other symptoms, such as changes in testosterone levels or discomfort.
However, it’s important to understand that any lump in the testicular area should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Even though the lump seems non-threatening right now, a medical examination is essential to determine its exact nature and ensure it isn’t something that requires treatment.
Since you mentioned not experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, that’s a positive sign. Nonetheless, I recommend scheduling a consultation with a doctor to perform a physical examination and potentially an ultrasound to confirm what the lump is. Early detection of any issue is crucial for peace of mind and long-term health. Regular self-examinations are also a good habit to continue in the future to stay on top of your reproductive health.
Please seek medical attention soon to rule out any serious conditions and ensure your well-being.
Thanks
